Our Church Year includes different seasons, starting in Advent and going through Christmas, Epiphany, The Transfiguration of Our Lord (Special Sunday), Lent, Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, Reformation Sunday (Special Sunday), All Saints' Day (Special Sunday) and after all the Sundays of Pentecost are done, we are back into Advent.
There is one Sunday which begins the season of Pentecost, and this occurs on the 50th day after the Resurrection and is known for the Holy Spirit descending like tongues of fire upon the disciples' heads and preaching was done like never before - in every language known to man, so that every person could understand someone speaking. Three thousand people were baptized and brought to Christ, that day.
The Holy Trinity Sunday follows, at which time we focus on the creeds (our beliefs) that have been given to us:
The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. Each one of these creeds explains specifically what we believe, Who we believe, and why we believe.
The Season of Pentecost runs, this year, from May 19 to November 17.
Colors of Altar Paraments during Pentecost - Green. Two Sundays during the Season of Pentecost, the liturgical colors are changed for those two Sundays only, and they are Reformation (Red) and All Saints' Day (white)
